A.   A bail bond is a way for a defendant to pay the jail to get out of jail until their court date. If a defendant can not afford bail they must wait in jail until their court date or until the case is done. Hiring a bail bondsman can reduce the cost so a defendant can get out of jail quickly. A bail bond is used to secure the freedom of a defendant in between court appearances by paying the amount of money agreed upon by the court.
A.    A bail bondsman or bail bond agent pledges money as bail for a defendant who is supposed to appear in court.
A.    The fee or premium paid to a bail bondsman is non-refundable. The premium paid is for the service provided by the bail bond agency.

A.    A person must be at least 18 years of age. Have credentials to prove identity such as a state driver’s license. Proof of employment. Agree to cover the full cash amount of the bond which may be necessary if a defendant forfeits the bail bond.
